Default LI to NC

I'm doing some research on the waxhaw area. I currently live on long island with 3 young children and my husband. Can't take the property taxes anymore. Everyone seems to be flocking to this area of nc, but don't the property taxes need to eventually be raised in order to keep up with schools and everything else? Anyone with any info?

We relocated from Plainview LI to South Charlotte in 1998 -- now we live in Hunter Oaks (Waxhaw) just over the border from South Charlotte into Union County. For our family, it was absolutely the best move.

As far as property taxes go, yes, I fully expect them to go up. But I do not expect them to be close to what you are used to in NY anytime soon. I know what I was paying 9 years ago, and what I am paying now is MUCH less for a house more than twice the size.

Best of luck to you, and feel free to PM me if I can assist you in your relocation...I would be happy to send on a relocation packet and send you some listings
