trese is on a distinguished road
I think in most cities you want to avoid the "business district" after dark, sometimes even during the day. Stop at well light and highly populated exit ramps. Be careful at rest stops. There are mean people everywhere.

If you go thru Fayetteville, be careful on the main strip-Bragg Blvd I think it is? I have heard terrible stories about that area.

From Charlotte-take 85 and that will take you to 40 into Raleigh.

Actually, Charlotte isn't like that - it's not a place to avoid at any time, day or night really, unless of course it's 3 A.M. and you are walking all by yourself.

I love the drive to the Outer Banks. I don't mind the drive to Wilmington.

Well, the drive to the Outer Banks is not interstate Scenic drives are always nice, and NC has so many of those!
