We moved to Fayetteville, my parents live in Myrtle Beach, it's about 2 1/2 hrs from here (S. Fayetteville, exit 41 off I95) to Murrells Inlet, just south of Myrtle Beach.

hi. We moved to Pope AFB (inside of Ft Bragg) last year but I had an advantage because I'm from eastern NC. Fayetteville is nice, but we live 45 minutes away. DH would rather commute than live close to the base (explosions and plane noises)

if you get orders and have questions, I'll do what I can to help. I haven't been to the base in a while though because DH is deployed now.

There are some parts of Fayetteville/cumberland county that are more country-like than others. I live on the southwest part of the county, still technically Fayetteville (annexed last year), and just a few miles from our house are cotton fields, and the field between our subdivision and the one up the street looked like corn when we got here, but now it's cleared for a new development......you can get either country-like or not around here but dont' count on the country like areas to stay that way for long!
