Default kids and summer

WHen school is out what do most kids do for summer...we have camps here that are way too expensive. About $4000-$5000 per child...the school has a program for three weeks/3 hrs that mine are going to...I am home so we spent days at the beach, pool or just hanging out....This is yet another crazy expense that if I went to work, all my money would go to child care and camp.

If they neighborhood has a pool, they go there (unless it's too hot even for that) otherwise, indoor activities where there is access to the AC. A lot of kids go to church camps too. My oldest two went to bible camp that lasted a week with their friend's church. (it was a baptist chruch and we are Catholic, but oh well). They had a blast.... they were away from parents for a week and slept in those ever popular camping bunbeds. Although I'm pretty sure they told the kids that reading Harry Potter was a sin. Which I thought was a little ridiculous but also got a little laugh from it.
