Default mortgage interest rate projections?

anyone with an opinion on whether or not interest rates will go down even lower in the next few months, or if they will remain the same? i have talked to so many people and everyone has a different opinion. some say they will stay, others say they will go even lower, and still others think they will be on their way up in 2010. i need a crystal ball.....

What is the reason for your question? Do you want to refinance and are waiting to see if it goes lower? The rates are really low right now, my personal suggestion is take advantage if you can. I know people trying to wait for the "bottom" to invest etc., but the Dow is slowly rising and now they are like "Was that the bottom? Should I wait - it might go back down?" It is all a big gamble.

It is KILLING me not to personally be able to take advantage of the 4.5 % rate from Suntrust. When I heard about it earlier today I just screamed

Don't know about any of you, but if I could do what I want to do right now I'd so jump at that rate - I'm not greedy and that is a DANG GREAT rate!!

WHAT ARE SOME OF YOU WAITING FOR???

Where are you seeing 4.5% from SunTrust? Their website lists 4.625% with a 1% origination fee.

Was told this over the phone, not on their website, sorry. It just happened this morning (the drop) so maybe the website wasn't updated when you saw it?
