Is that figure $500/yr correct? I wish I could get that in Johnston County!

Well, here's another question- isn't home owners insuruance largely dependent on your credit score (FICO) score?

Mike - Ins rates are based on alot of things and one is your credit..unforunatetly, bad credit means risk which = higher insurance but there are other factors too...(thanks mm34b - finally got the answer to my question)

Yeahhh, like livestock! Living in the country, we didn't even think to notify the insurer of our newly purchased home that we had llamas. We had land, a lot of people around us had goats and cows and horses, what would be the problem? I don't know how the insurer found out, but our policy was swiftly cancelled. I guess some Warren Schmidt-type [bonus points for those who can identify the Jack Nicholson movie that reference is from] calculated the odds of one of our boys putting out someone's eye with a well-aimed spit glob and ixnayed our coverage

FYI - Livestock is usually excluded from insurance but I assume there are insurance companies that may insure it- for a price-

As far as credit score goes, absolutely no problem; we own our land and home, no payments, and have never filed a claim on our insurance.
