It has nothing to do with who freed whom or who owned whom.
It is 2009.
You seem to be holding on to such hatred for the North. Let it go, Sweetie. Let it go.
Oh, by the way, it is called the Civil War. It only makes you seem bitter when you call it anything else

Cupcake- You do not have much of a grasp of history. You are a pretty ignorant softcone.

Again, I wish you luck. You are still one of the very few folks that are still fighting the Civil War.
You lost. Let it go

I live in probably one of the most un-southern towns in north Carolina, and as I have lived in NC all of my life, I am the child of a northern parent and the other was raised in florida by northerners. So dispite the lack of southern heratige, the state is still very southern.

I am not trying to single you out or pick on you paper its just that your post brings up a point that I will never understand. Slavery and the civil war was in the 1800's. I have never owned a slave nor my dad, nor my grandfather and past that they are passed away. whether it was right or wrong it was in the past and done or happened to no one alive today. I dont see it as an issue anymore, we have bigger fish to fry in the world today and dwelling on the past only puts restraints on resolving problems we face today. I am white and I refuse to look on an individual as a race but as the individual he/she is. I hear all the time that the prison's are comprised persentage wise of mostly blacks. While this may be true you still cant hold any one person responsible for another regardless of race. My point here is why cant everyone treat each other as individuals without any preconcieved feelings toward that person because of his race, and this pertains to all ,white ,black or any other color. One could say that if a white man marries a white woman he is racist, he chose white over black. Sounds rediculous and it is. If we could all take race out of the equasion I think we would be amazed at the progress that could be made

We did this up North, too.
It's not a Southern thang.
