Need Help
We maybe relocating to NC. My husband would be working in Albemarle. Any towns close by that offer more than Albemarle. I am looking for great schools, shopping, ymca, safe community. Any towns with that charm would do, can be 20-30 mins from Albemarle.
Thanks in Advance!!!!

Your options include Concord, Salisbury, Monroe, and of course Charlotte. But if I had the opportunity to work in Albemarle, I think I'd try to find some nice property on one of the nearby lakes (High Rock, Badin, or Tillery). Lake living is hard to beat, and some properties are reasonably close to Salisbury or Lexington so you can enjoy the best of both worlds.

Concord, Salisbury, Monroe, and Charlotte are a lot more than 20 -30 minutes.
Concord, Charlotte and Monroe, an hour sounds about right. Salisbury is a little closer at about 45 minutes. Of course it all depends on where your commuting from, and to, in each city. There is a regular poster here that lives in Albemarle. Hopefully she'll see this thread and give you some good information.

^ Huh? Concord is about 20 miles from Albemarle, Salisbury about 30 miles. Shouldn't take an hour to drive that unless you're in a horse and buggy.

Albemarle to Concord is about 35-40 minutes. However, this is where I suggest you look to live. While I like Albemarle a lot, it does sound a bit too small for all you are looking for. In addition, Cabarrus County schools are better than Stanly County schools.
