Default Gov. Bev Perdue on Local TV News Yesterday - Carbon Motors

What are your thoughts on our Governors repeated and consistent denial of knowing that Carbon Motors and its CEO has tried to contact her via telephone and mail to discuss a possible NC Headquarters?

I believe each side thinks they're right. Carbon Motors believes they tried to contact her, and Bev believes they didn't. Either way, the bulk of this will fall on Bev because she needs to be proactive in helping to fix the ailing economy of NC. Not saying that she isn't, but so far I really haven't seen or heard anything.

Simple fact is, we didn't have any good choices.

Had her opponent gotten in, we would all paying to fund Charlotte's light rail system.

So not true Those are FEDERAL AND LOCAL dollars building the light rail - something VERY NEEDED and NECESSARY - or perhaps you've forgotten how Charlotte and what happens here in business bolsters the rest of the state?

He may not have been perfect, but he was a helluva better choice then Bev. Wait and see where this state goes under her tenure.

I hadn't heard about this, I just did some reading.

Carbon Motors says they contacted the state of NC (presumably to solicit our tax $$). They also said they contacted South Carolina, Georgia, Indiana, and Michigan.

And the end of March, SC, GA, IN, and MI all confirmed their interest. NC didn't. A week later, all four states turned in their proposals, except NC.

Having said that.. I have never heard of this company. I am skeptical. Looking at the vehicle specifications, I am guessing that if it lives up to what they say it will (which is unlikely), then it will cost a fortune.

Default At $50k each, the reception has been "cool"

It does, and that will be a challenge that many in law enforcement have noted.

I can't offer any real opinion about why NC did or didn't respond to their proposal. But a lot of the reviews I've seen on the car did show law enforcement excited about many of the vehicles LE specific features, but then very incredulous that many departments/municipalities could afford the unit costs even when considering the advertised benefits such as longer service life.

We'll see though.... I wish them luck.

Al
