Between Western North Carolina and Eastern North Carolina, what of the two areas listed do you prefer to live, work and play? Why?

I like them both, but voted for western because I prefer the climate there. I'm always torn between hiking, climbing & river running in the mountains or paddling, sailing and beach bumming near the coast. That's the beauty of NC, we have arguably the best beaches & mountains on the east coast, and the climate is mild enough that they can be enjoyed year-round!!!

I like Western. We have Charlotte, Boone, and Asheville. Probably W-S and Greensboro could fit. Or maybe W-S as beginning of West and Greensboro as beginning of East. Even still, the main question is do you like Mountains or Beaches. I like Beaches but Charlotte overrides the desire for beaches.

I prefer to live in the mountains and vacation at the beach.
