I like spencer and live just around that area and do not see it as a troubled area. If you coinside troubled with with not meeting test scores then yes it is troubled. But the kids are great, the neighborhoods are quiet, and the area is diverse which is a plus for my family.

I am from Florida. Moved to NC from VA in October of last year. Florida schools are ok and it depends on where you are moving or looking to move to. I am from the southern end of FL. like from the Ft.Lauderdale and Miami areas. There is a town called Davie in FL the best school there is NOVA it runs from elementary to college. Nova blanchforman/ Eisenhower Elementary then Nova Middle and NOVA High and then Nova S.Eastern college. The town of Davie used to be a small country town but has grown and expanded phenomenally in the past few years. The school there is great and ahead. They do foreign exchange and have different nationalities there at the school ( or at lest they did when I attended it ) NC is slow in school academics. My children are ahead of them here in school and thats is because we moved from VA who is ahead in academics more than NC. My children here attend a rural school out in riegalwood called East Arcadia Elementary and it runs from k-8. Its ok I guess, blacks are the majority out here so if you have a problem with that you may not want to move this way. I am brown so I have no problem with them.(lol) Also most of the schools here in the rural areas are also gospel driven considering we are in the bible belt region. I consider that to be a blessing in a way faith somehow instills kids with seeds of kindness. Take care and have fun trying to find the place thats best for you and yours. From my experience Texas and VA have the best so far followed by Florida.
