So this had to be a transplant right?
Driving back along Hwy 42 in Harnett County Saturday around 5:00 pm. The speed limit drops to 35 (gives the typical 1000 ft warning) and is double yellow lined.
So I slow to between 35 and 40 ish and there is this silver BUICK or LEXUS right on my tail pipe.
Suddenly it flies by, stares at me and does some bizarre wave or salute as I throw up my arm and yell--IT'S A DOUBLE YELLOW in a 35 zone!!
As it come around me it has, of all things, a North Carolina plate.
Now I have had a few folks in my tail pipe since I refuse to drive 80 mph on roads like NC 96 and NC 210 here in Johnston County.
Are we still all training for NASCAR and aren't we taking this Dukes of Hazard thing just a bit too serious?
I love a good run on any road, but when one starts passing double yellow in a 35--that's plain stupidity--and I don't mind using the "S" word either.

Well, there are idiots in every state, LOL. But looking at a license tag won't tell you a lot these days, anyway.
1. The car could be a rental - someone flew in and rented it
2. The idiot may be home-grown and stupid
3. The jerk may be a transplant who has been here long enuff to register his car
In any event, the main thing is there wasn't an accident that resulted from this foolishness. But as far as figuring out whether the person was a home grown fool or a transplanted fool . . . who knows . . . still a fool, just the same, LOL!!!

Some people have no biz having a license. They are ignorant. Doesn't matter where they come from-they need to be taught a lesson!
I lived in SC for 2 years and OH MY GOSH-they must just hand people a license in that state without any training!!! They ride your tail, almost hit you when passing, hover in the left lane going below the speed limit!! YIKES! When we first moved there we wondered why our insurance doubled-didn't take long to see why!!

Every state has people like that. If you think that only transplants drive that way you're mistaken.

I have one better than that, but it happened in South Carolina last week on Highway 17 South of Charleston.
It was between 4 and 6 P. M., really closer to 5 P. M. I was traveling from Charleston to
Edisto Island and was close to the Edisto turnoff. I had moved over to the left lane to make sure I could get over for my left turn, since the traffic was heavy. I saw a commotion behind me and a car speed up and move to the right lane in a mighty hurry. Before that everybody had just been driving normal with people finding places to move a little faster when they could. Then I saw why that car had made the crazy move. Someone even crazier was trying to move forward by driving BETWEEN the two lanes of traffic and he was heading for my car and I could see it was going to be a wreck. I drive a LeSabre and the car beside me was a big one too.
Not even caring that I might get a ticket, I floored my car and got to the right lane too. I was just trying to stay alive: this crazy driver bullied his way until he went out of sight. I hope this person was drunk and does not do this every day to unsuspecting people. If I hadn't seen this I would not have believed it.
I looked for a license plate but he was out of sight before I could see it after recovering from my adventure. Makes you scared to go out on the roads for any reason.
