Hey, thanks for the info! That's fun to know. What about the movie Cold Mountain? I thought that was filmed in the mountains of NC. And also, several years ago, someone told me some parts of one of the Children of the Corn movies was filmed here in a town called McLeansville or something like that. Do you know if there's any truth to that? I don't know that I would want to claim any of those movies, though. LOL

While the real Cold Mountain is located in Haywood County, the movie (2003) used the Carpathian Mountains in Romania instead.

Children of the Corn (1984) was filmed in California and Iowa.

Default Children of the Corn (3)?

One of the Children of the Corn sequels was shot in NC. The movie that was filmed in Monroe is a remake of "April Fool's Day". I don't understand why. The first movie was awful.

"The Clearing" with Robert Redford and Willem Defoe.

"The Fugitive" Harrison Ford.

"Shallow Hal".

"Carrie 2" (another needless sequel)

Does anyone know where the beach house is that was used in this movie. Supposedly it was Kure Beach or Wrightsville Beach North Carolina

"Junebug" with Amy Adams has parts filmed in Pfafftown, and the 52 Hwy heading north from Winston-Salem.

1958 - Thunder Road with Robert Mitchum

My dad took me to see the filming of some of the action scenes, blowing up gas stations and other good stuff

Question Trying to find film about an isolated community

I am trying to find the name of a film about an isolated community set, I think, off shore of north of south carolina. I believe John Voight starred as a teacher but I haven't been able to find it by search his films. The main character was a teacher and the tiny schoolhouse was children who I think spoke a different dialect that could not be understood. The children may have been African American. The movie was made many years ago, possibly between 1957 and 1970.

Can you help me?

One Tree Hill is filmed in Wilmington. When I went to CFCC they would be filming on campus a lot b/c that is where the high school took place. I was also stopped while walking downtown b/c they would be in the middle of shooting a scene. The coffee shop on the show was only like a block or two from school. Sometimes it could be annoying if you were in a hurry to class, but they were always quick and it was pretty cool to see the actors in the middle of their work. "The Hills" was filmed in Laguna Beach, CA.
