These are GREAT ideas! I appreciate everyone's insight. We still have a few more weeks, so keep the ideas coming, but I'm excited about what we'll be taking over.

A Piggly Wiggly t-shirt. My out of state friends always love to get a six pack of various classic NC barbecue sauces which must include: Carolina Treat, Scott's, Bone Sucking Sauce, Dillard's and two of your choice. The Encyclopedia of North Carolina is also a great gift as is a subscription to Our State Magazine. Jim Early's book on North Carolina Barbecue is a wonderful gift as well. If you can find a good ole boy that can sell you a mason jar of blueberry shine, that would be most authentic.

A Southern Season in Chapel Hill is having its sale right now, and they carry a lot of NC crafts and foods.

For the kids, and given the Duke connection, you might want to consider some t-shirts or other sports items from the Duke store in the Bryan Center.
