And just about every day you read of someone killed in a wreck because they were not wearing their seatbelt. There is a too high percentage of people on the road that are too stupid to be allowed on the road.
Do these people not realize that at dusk, in the rain, in fog, that your vehicle is damn near invisible without lights? It is not about you seeing, but being seen.

It should be common sense to turn on your headlights in the rain but a good bit of these drivers seem to lack that knowledge. I just don't get why so many fail to do this, I really don't.

I was told there was a law in North Carolina that you had to turn your headlights on when it was raining. I don't think most states have that law. I know that Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire have no such law. I would assume that most of the people from other states are unaware of that law. It is a good law but I must admit I've never heard of any accidents when it rained any more than in North Carolina. I don't know why it is such a big deal when it rains down here to people driving. But all in all North Carolina is the best state in the world and it is just cute that weather is a huge deal.

About 3 years ago, 20 states had "lights on" laws. No sure what the number is today. NC passed their law in 1990.

I like my daytime running lights. On all the time. Safer too.

Sagess, what ClevelandMike is referring to about the hazard lights is the fact that SO MANY drivers will drive around with their hazard lights on just b/c they're seemingly scared to drive when it's snowing, raining, windy, sunny, foggy, dark out...whatever their case may be (lol). They do it ALOT!!
