Fayetteville is not as bad as some folks claim. It is only as bad as you make it. There is plenty to do if you get involved. Read some of the recent posts about Fayetteville.

To compare schools use this site. NC School Report Cards

Search Cumberland, Hoke, Harnett counties. Most folks live in one of the three.

You can send me a "direct message' and I'd be happy to provide more concise info.

The best schools, are in Cumberland County, maybe Harnett, NOT in Hoke County.
You'll want the best schools you can afford to live by....I believe that Jack Britt is still the highest rated High School in the area, so you'd want elementary schools that feed into that school...That would be Stoney Point El, part of Lake Rim elementary, and Honeycutt El. Not sure if that's it.
Good luck.
Fayetteville is not nearly as bad as some make it out to be on here.

We will be stationed at Bragg this fall. We just bought a house in Aberdeen. It is on the west side of the base.
Have you been there yet?
I did a lot of searching. Just in the end I didn't like the Fayetteville side of base. I was hoping for Moore county but happened to find a house just over the county line in Hoke.
How old are your kids? My oldest is 8 and the youngest is 2.

Have you looked in the Eastover area? It is very nice and has great schools that are not over crowded.
Also, the town of Wade, which is near Eastover.

As far as affordability & good schools...that would be the Cape Fear District! Eastover, Stedman, Wade, Beaver Dam....

We have been stationed here for 6 years. I live in Harnett County in a gated community called Carolina Lakes. I love it here. Actually anywhere in the Harnett County Area is nice. I am a full service Real Estate Agent and would love the opportunity to help you relocate here. You can email me at stone_shelly@ymail.com or 910-476-4205. My name is Shelly Stone.
