I would like to know about Raleigh or Charlotte. Which city is better to live? What area of the city is the best in Raleight or Charlotte. Thanks in advance for your help.

Here Goes:

Raleigh is nice (mostly), but overrated and the wages are not that great.

Winston-Salem is on a rebound of sorts, but from what I can tell has no nightlife to speak of.

Charlotte is so darn big now that you can find most anything you want (except high paying jobs that aren't connected to the banking industry).

Wilmington and Asheville are very nice , but too small not to depend way too much on the vacation/tourism economy.

This comes from someone who was raised in NC and has spent most of my life here and has connections and/or has spent time in ALL of the aforementioned areas.

So if you were looking for an area in North Carolina that is somewhat close to a city, has some nice restaurants, parks, things to do..a great main street, is safe, has jobs....
where would you be?

Davidson is very attractive, but the jobs and things to do will be in Charlotte.

Pittsboro also has a nice Main Street, but the jobs are in the urbanized areas: Morrisville, Raleigh, etc.

A suburb of Charlotte or Raleigh. Concord, Cary, Chapel Hill come to mind.
