Hi,
My husband and I are looking to move to NC this year and are looking for some advice on the best places to raise our 2 school aged kids. We are looking to rent a house for awhile instead of buying right away. My husband is a welder/metal fabricator and I am a Certified Medical Assistant (may go back to school and get my License Practical Nursing later)

I have family in Kannapolis and in Murphy and Asheville but we are trying to gather info. on the BEST and SAFEST places to work, live and play!

GA is just getting to expensive. The cost of living is RIDICULOUS and the crime anywhere around Atlanta is unbelievable. So any input on making the move to NC would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks!

You mentioned Kannapolis. That area, Cabarrus County, would meet your needs very nicely. Of course, as always, it boils down to where your jobs will be.

We are living in NJ looking to move to Suwanee, GA, I'm hearing so many good things about this area, but in your post you commented about crime rate being high, is that general or in certain areas? Here of course in NJ/NY crime is high but if a person understands the area it's possible to live in some nice areas with much lower crime rates... We thought of NC too, but work seems better for us in GA.
Good luck.
