Anyone have a heads up on any openings anywhere? I recently graduated with a degree in Computer Information Systems. I've done desktop support, but I'm also really good at programming. I moved to Charlotte from Columbia, SC to live with a relative because she talked about how much more opportunity there was here. Sadly I'm finding just the opposite. I think unemployment is actually higher here. The standard job search engines are worthless because they post the same jobs on every site, and apparently employers never actually intend to fill those positions. Can anyone name some companies that I might check out? Anywhere in NC would be fine.

Can you move back to Columbia? Honestly, there are more IT jobs THERE, than Charlotte right now. Wish I could give you better news, but my IT husband just spent a year out of work in Charlotte. It's BAD in Charlotte right now for IT people.

u try usa jobs? an IT position just opened up on Camp Lejeune within the last week.

This one closes on Jul 22, opened on Jul 8th:
USAJOBS - Search Jobs

This one is a continously open position, but I guess it wouldn't hurt to get you app on file:
USAJOBS - Search Jobs

Well I definitely like Charlotte better than Columbia, but I'm willing to relocate anywhere at this point.

I'll take a look, but I've heard that it can take a very long time to secure employment with the government, especially those positions that require TS clearance.
