Am I wrong to assume that NC has no State Parks that a RV or travel camper can stay at? I looked the state map and couldn't seem to find any, at all.

Not sure what map you are looking at, there are definitely places to camp all over the state. Are you interested in mountains or beach?

Either one is fine, but remember I said "State Parks" not private parks were they let everyone do what ever trips thier triggers. Like, loud music, ATV's all around your camp, alcohol, drunks getting stupid and trash all over the place. And I also stated for Campers and RV's, not some hole in the wall place that you can't get to without an ATV.

I saw that you want state parks where RV's are allowed, again they are all over. Which would you prefer I recommend, mountains or beach?

The closest thing I know of to Dunn would be Jordan Lake.

Here are my top preferences to recommend all over the state.

Stone Mountain State Park
3042 Frank Parkway, Roaring Gap NC 28668, 336-957-8185

Doughton Park (on the Blue Ridge Parkway)
CAMPING information by High Country Hiking, the best guide to nc hiking trails, mountain trails, between Roanoke va and Asheville

Kerr Lake State Park
6254 Satterwhite Point Road, Henderson NC 27537, 252-438-7791

Morrow Mountain State Park
49104 Morrow Mountain Road, Albemarle NC 28001, 704-982-4402

Some of the best RV beach camping is in SC at
Hunting Island
hunting island state park sc - Google Maps

If you ever decide to try private campgrounds these two are awesome, well run, clean and in beautiful mountain environments. Honestly, I've stayed at state parks where the fellow campers were A LOT more trouble and noise than in the best private campgrounds.

Davidson River
Davidson River Campground

Bear Den
Campgrounds North Carolina, Camping in North Carolina, Camping in Western North Carolina, Bear Den

I took a look at the web site and didn't anything about RV's or Tow-Camper camp sites? Mostly tents, did I miss something?
