75 in a 55? If they'll LET you PJC out of it, I'd go that route. Barring that option I'd spend the money on a good Traffic Attorney, as what you'll be paying him/her will probably be a sound investment to keep your future auto insurance expenditures at a sane level. Faulty equipment violation is iffy at best, and trust me, if you manage to get off on that they ain't gonna forget about the guy that did that to them.
Remember: We're in a pretty deep recession; Arbitrary (imho, I KNOW how to drive I'm SCCA certified dangit) speed limits and MOST (not all, some people do fly down the road) of the speeding ticket system is just a giant revenue generator. And since we're in a recession, you can bet your behind they're going to be even more anal about what constitutes speeding, and they'll do everything they can to get into as many peoples' wallets as possible.
One last thing. In my quest to know who/what is behind me at all times, I have installed a relatively high resolution weather-proofed light-gathering (aka night vision) camera where my trunk key hole used to be (I use my fob to pop the trunk not taking chances). It was really simple to wire it to a small LCD screen that I mounted on a bracket on my A-pillar. So now, especially at night, there are no ambushes, no more not knowing if the guy behind me is PD or Highway Patrol and is going to try and take me and my wallet for a ride. You can even spot the new low-profile light racks they're sporting now, as well as the undercover blue dashboard lights they think are so slick. Anyone that wants to know how to do it or wants to meet up and install it on their vehicle can shoot me a PM.
