jdljr-

You haven't heard from me b/c I thought I was "fixed" until I played Jethro & started cipherin'!

Is it possible for someone at esc to somehow override the system and add money to a payment? My week 14 amount was $290, with the extra $25, it was $315, which I expected. THEN, a normal weekly benefit amount is $403+$25= $428, which is what I expected, but, rather, it was $541! A difference of $113, which is also the dfference between $290 and $403. It's as though someone added the 113 to the 290 to make it equal to a regular benefit amount. Why, though, I have no idea

Anyway, I'm baffled. Can a claim rep actually look at a claim & tell what someone has done? I am dreading additional hooppla for fear it will stop paying again. I'm hoping there is a way to subtract it from a future week without any adverse repercussions.

Thanks much!

Gosh, I have no idea. Anything's possible I suppose but I'm at a loss (without seeing it, of course, and even then if your bph on our screen shows a certain benefit amount released but it still differes from what you say was deposited, I'd still be perplexed).

I'll bet you'll have a $113 Overpayment. Only because I think, for some reason, A LOT of the 14th week payments may have paid out at the full weekly benefit amount (instead of the reduced amount) and then the system somehow recalculates it and shows the difference between what was paid and what should have been paid as an Overpayment. Just a hunch.

Call Monday.

Hey fellow unemployed!

I got paid yesterday, albeit it would appear I am now looking at an overpayment situation, I think. I was one of the claimants "stuck" in the system because I exhausted my Tier on the exact deadline date which sorta threw the NCESC computers for a loop.

I'd like any of you who post on here to respond this weekend as to whether you are still waiting. I am doing my best to get media attention on this problem...not to shed the ESC in a negative light, but to expose how the political filibustering is making life difficult for everyone...not just the unemployed.

I have been invited by a major media reporting outlet to tell my story. I have been paid, but I'd venture to guess some of you are still waiting, so I'd like to know before I open my mouth.

I'd also like to use the opportunity to give jdljr a kudos for his tireless efforts and guidance on here, if he is amenable to that. I'm not sure whether I could do so in a manner that would protect his identity, so I'll leave that up to him.

Thanks, everyone, for your responses....do it quickly, as there isn't much time. Also, do a Gooogle search for, Unemployment/Mayday, for information and instructions about an online movement to attempt to garner attention to the Unemployment crisis in the US, and to ask lawmakers not to leave us behind! Do it before the 30th so you can participate if you wish.

Thanks Deerest!

I actually got my revised monetary determination letter today...it's for Tier 2 benefits and the amount does appear to be revised from where I left off at when my benefit year ended! So far, so good. It's either I just got lucky, or the e-mail worked.

I guess I won't know for sure though until I actually get money next week.

Well I certainly hope you get paid! I got a letter, too, for Tier 4 monetary determination, so something seems to have broken through the stalemate, computer/programming-wise.

Problem is....this will likely happen yet again in June. I'll be out of options well before then, but I stand determined to shed light on the issue of joblessness and extending benefits to those who honestly want and need to work, but need additional help in the interim.

Good Luck!

wow, that's great!
So you never had to call, only an email ?
I think mine will end the week as you have to exhauset a tier to move into another tier.
The week following the 22nd of May.
I'm hoping I can get by with an email also

Goodluck on your media venture! I'm not waiting on benefits at the moment... my time will be here if and when they pass another 30 day or more extension come June.
I've made contact after contact and email upon email to our higher powers.,
I'm hoping all of our efforts will help.
Like I've said before, I know and am thankful that I have it easier than many on unemployment.
I also know I can wake up one day and be in a tough situation in a matter of weeks.
I have another job interview this Wednesday, I'm having trouble getting excited for it.
Too many no call backs lately.
Maybe this time will be different

You too huh?

This one company I interviewed for (production supervisor position) never called me back, so I called them. And I called them again. And again. And I finally was able to speak with the assistant to the HR manager...who says, "I'm sorry, you were over qualified for this position." That happens more often than anything. I hate that. Again...if I aim too high in my search...I don't even get called in for interview, or when I do, I have just a miserable time. If I aim low or even slightly lower...I'm overqualified. That's when you say, "Well Frrrunkis you dummy...apply for the jobs that fit you best!" And that's what I've been doing all along as well. Unfortunately, I guess I'm blending in with the rest of the 6-12 applicants per job. Ugh...frustration.

Well...I did call last week and talked to that dummy who told me to basically "call back later". I know for certain that she didn't do anything to my account that might have triggered the pull forward. I'll tell ya, it either happened automatically or it was the e-mail.

Here's the e-mail I sent....word for word.

Quote:
Hello,

My name is (fullname/last 4 digits of SSN#). I'm contacting you to inform you that I am in my final week of regular UI benefits of my second benefit year. I received a letter in the mail today stating that I do not qualify for Extended Unemployment Compensation...which I absolutely did expect would be the case.

But I did speak with a representative a few weeks ago, who informed me that I will be able to "pull forward" my existing EUC benefits from my first benefit year. When my first benefit year expired, I was near the middle of Tier 2 EUC.

I'm not sure if I should expect the pull forward to automatically happen...or if I need to call a representative to issue the pull forward manually. If you can advise me of what to do...or if you can transfer me back to Tier 2...that would be terrific.

Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,
(fullname/last 4 digits of SSN#)
I sent this on the Tuesday of my final week of regular UI benefits. Thursday is when my account switched from "Benefits Exhausted" to "Unknown". And Saturday (yesterday) is when I got my revised Tier 2 determination letter, with what says either 9 or 10 weeks of benefits left to be drawn. And that sounds about right where I left off. The NCESC acted on my account two days after I sent the e-mail, and the previous two issues I had...which I brought up to them thru e-mail were handled on the second day as well. So, yeah, I really think the e-mail did it.

JDLJR
ok please update me

I just filed my LAST WEEK for my second claim year a few mins ago

so now it should show ZERO $ left in my account
to update you
i filed year 1 in Jan 2009
got MAX tier 1 and tier 2
last Dec 09 i was in EB for a spell, in mind Jan 10 i filed year 2 claim

HERE IS MY QUESTION

WOULD IT BE THIS TUESDAY--- I.E. 2 days???

should I wait to see what happens? OR is it better to call and have them manually help me????

ALSO Is it better to call raleigh or my local office???
AND IF I SHOULD WAIT TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS< then how long do i wait? i mean would i see an update Wed morning????

please let me know what steps I should take now to try to make this as seamless as possible? thanks a lot and please help
