I received my last unemployment check on October 5th of this year. My last filing was on Sunday, October 4th and my last check was deposited on the 5th. ALL (all tiers and EB) of my benefits have been exhausted. I haven't received a check since then. But when I check my payment history on the website, it shows something TOTALLY different! It shows i've been getting checks all the way up until November 1st! That's definitely not the case though. I even tried to file the week after my last check (even though I knew that was the last one) and it said my benefits have been exhausted. Why it's showing that i've still been getting checks, I have no idea!
And to add a little more info, I had to redo my claim (if i'm not mistaken, on October 2nd) because my benefit year had ended (but I still had that 1 check left) so I had to start over. My benefit year now ends 10/2/2010
Do any of you have a clue what this is all about? I should probably call them but it's HARD getting through to someone! I did a screenshot so you can see what i'm talking about.

Well, without actually looking at your claim, I wonder if when your new benefit year was established, you qualified for a new, regular UI claim. However, if you've not been certifying weekly, I'm not sure why the screen would be showing payments. Really can't say. And you've not been calling in weekly certifications?? Really odd.

I haven't heard of anyone receiving anything from NC ESC yet. Some have called in and emailed and the responses that have been received are that letters may go out the end of the year, beginning of January. They are still working on programming the system. Hopefully payments will start in January...
Here's a link to unemployed-friends, NC:

Hope this helps.

when his year is over he should get a notice in the mail stating Monetary eligibility for Tier 2 extension which will be slightly less amount wise than the Tier 1 but his weekly payments should be the same amount. Tier 2 is usually no more than maybe 2 and a half to 3 months though. after that he will probably get a notice for tier 3 extension and possibly a 4th after that. then he will most likely get EB benefits after that if he qualifies for it.

my benefit year ended over a week ago but i got a letter saying i was eligible for tier 2 with my benefit amount. on the website it just says my year is over when i weekly certitfy. is Tier 2 extension being held up in NC such as Tier 3 ?? will i have to wait till the end of the year for the programming to be finished or is it that i need to file for a new year 1st ?? before getting my Tier 2 payments? any answers would be greatly appreciated.

See my post, #151, which is the answer to this same question you asked the other day.
There is no hold up with the extensions already in place. For you, the hold up is your benefit year has ended and you must open a new one for any payments to continue.

This is my first post This thread has been most helpful but I am wondering if anyone knows if the extension that Obama passed qualifies for unused benefits as my plan year will end this Saturday. I plan on filing for a new plan year but I will not qualify for a regular UI claim, just a transitional claim provided Obamas extension is considered untapped funds from my previous plan year. I have not received any letter yet and my current claim says benefits exhausted Thanks for the great information

No one has received letters yet, as the extension is not yet ready to pay. We're not sure who EXACTLY will qualify - out of the several hundred thousand claimants in North Carolina, ESC had identified 72,000 who qualify...but headquarters never tells us anything as far as WHO. We're still playing the waiting game as well.

I received an email today from the NC ESC saying that they are hoping the programming of the computers will be completed before Christmas. I truly hope so.
