mod note

I’d like to take a few moments to remind everyone of the Terms of Service that all members agree to when they join the site. Following are the specifics that address some of the issues I've been seeing:

#1:
Quote:
Be civil, no personal attacks, flaming, or insults. We may attack ideas (politely) but we do not attack the speaker of the idea. Be careful with your words, there is a point where being direct crosses a line into blunt, in-your-face hostility. Please, report bad posts instead of engaging in flame wars on the boards. Insulting another member or a moderator will not be tolerated anywhere on this website. This includes Direct Messages and Reputation Comments.
#2:
Quote:
Stay on topic. Attempts to hi-jack threads by switching topics or going off topic will be deleted and infractions issued. This is not a chat room - when people hi-jack threads by posting messages that are of interest to only few people, the threads often stop being useful discussions of initial topics.
#3:
Quote:
All posts unrelated to local matters will be deleted or moved. Threads dealing with controversial topics that often degenerate into flame wars, such as politics or religion, may be moved, closed, or deleted by moderators at their discretion without any warning to the participants.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, feel free to Send me a direct message

Thanks for your cooperation!

Sunny, I realize that the last few post were pretty nasty, I understand your need to moderate and close under the circumstances. However...this forum has been a blessing to me as I look for employment and try to stay abreast of the issues at hand. In most cases it has been enlightning and helpful information has been shared.

Thank You for your consideration,

Truth is a matter of opinion and you know what they say about opinions.

So far this forum is the most informative one I have found.

Thumbs up Eb benefit updates for north carolina

Please be civil and stay on the subject about eb benefits. No direct member bashing and no forcing of opinions upon anyone. Each person is entitleld to his/her opinion. We are here to fight together to reinstate our eb benefits and to look forward to a possible federal extension of euc 08. When quoting from news media, only quote the link from an article. Do not copy an entire article unto the forum.

NCEB, we have to ignore the 2 negative willies. I have a feeling they are trying to get the thread locked.

Thank you Sunny. Life is stressful enough without arguments on this forum. It is much better when we agree to disagree and listen to and work together thru this issue.

There will be no approp. comm. meetings Tuesday to allow for work on the pending budget. This will come as early as Tuesday, with the budget being presented to the Gov. hopefully by June 1 in order to allow for passage before weeks end.

Hope this helped.
UPDATE:

Six budget subcommittees will review the GOP plan Tuesday but won't vote. The full appropriations committee will take amendments Wednesday. The first of two required floor votes is expected May 31.
