I just wish these people will live a week in our shoes.
It will probably pass both the senate and house, they have that shored up, the problem is with the governor.

LOL 99.99% this will be VETOED and not overturned. The only way EB will be reinstated will be in a stand alone bill or a better budget bill by July 1st. Look for check to flow sometime towards Aug 1st at the EARLIEST!

Default What?

Berger basically admits he is using the EB issue as a way of getting a Republican sanctioned budget passed. July 1st is too long of a wait. This will be good evidence when Gov. Perdue sues the republicans

Sucks, but makes some sense..It is because that is when the federally funded part of the bill expires. I hate it for the people who come after us, the state does not want to pay for them. If the US extends it, then the state probably will as well. I wish they would at least tie it to that, instead of letting it go completely.

Default Blowing Smoke

I kept quiet about this for a week to see how the republicans would respond to the media pressure. Looks like their comments about working to restore eb was just a smoke screen to get the pressure off their back. Wish my phone was not disconnected and I had 24 hour internet service. I would really put the pressure on these sob's.

Not much notice, but this is exactly the kind of event called for. Three months without income -- I'm at a loss for words for how seriously wrong, immoral, depraved this refusal of the GOP to submit a clean bill is.

I still say don't give up. Lobby the legislators more than ever. And as somebody suggested a few pages back, maybe we need to take to the streets as they did in Egypt, Libya, Wisconsin.

This is an outrage.
