I found this searching not only for employment, but other options as well. I am not a 99er and hope not to be...
but this concept is interesting.

Who has read 439 all the way through? http://mm.news-record.com/drupal/fil..._CR_052511.pdf

I'm for getting EB on to us but what are the sacrifices in this bill? We have to make sure we are urging or legislators to pass a bill we accept totally not just getting EB to us right now!

I believe it's only a continuation of normal operations for 3 months instead of a year. Then it just adds our benefits.

Some would continue as is, others would operate on the H200 budget. Remember it is only 3 months or until a real budget is approved. Remember the last CR was for 1 year.

It's actually not a bad plan for everyone (The 3-month CR and extended EB). Perdue seems to just be pissed that GOP is playing games and won't even look at the guts of any proposal. Again, the GOP is flat out wrong in every single thing they've done at this point, but this is not too bad of a compromise for those on the Left. If it sails through the House and Senate, sign it, Bev. Get this over with! You will come out looking like the better person, NOT the GOP.

HB439 would operate most areas of state government at the same level they are today, other areas would operate on the HB200 proposed CR. That being said, this bill is a good compromise that would not only restore unemployment benefits for the long term unemployed but would also let the government continue to operate in the event a full budget is not reached by July 01, 2011. Now if the GOP was sure that the budget is "veto proof" then this should be a shoe in, whether Bev throws out the veto stamp or not.

All of that being said, we all know that these two issues are not one and the same, a state budget should have nothing to do with a federally funded unemployment compensation package. Unfortunately for all of us here, our policy makers are unwilling to separate the two matters; therefore, I believe this is the best compromise that we will see.

I haven't read the bill yet, but I agree with what you're saying.
