So what does everyone think. It seems they are confident they have the Dems that make it veto proof.

As a leader she should say "this is what I am willing to accept" instead of dogging everything out at every chance. I don't agree with the way things are being bargained for but we all know some cuts ARE going to happen. She needs to step up and help find a solution not keep pointing fingers.

I just spoke to the claims supervisor in my local office ( concord ) and he told me, that their was absolutely no reason to file. According to him, if you file and get the message BENEFITS EXUHASTED, the system shows no record of you fileing that week anyways. He told me the process should be as simple as going in to the local office and get the benefits restarted when it gets pass. As for who gets retro,,,, no clue

Well, everyone better put forth that kind of effort in finding employment in the short weeks that follow. Because once it runs out that is it.

If we put forth the same kind of effort that was done to help restore EB then we should all find some kind of job lickity split!
Many on here and all across the USofA need to be fighting VERY hard in urging their state/federal government leaders to do something about private sector job expansion, because it's barely putting a dent in the 8M+ jobs that have been erased since 2007. And there's nothing on the horizon that gives me any hope that the situation is going to get any better. The republicans have failed by putting their own power and greed ahead of the unemployed...the democrats meanwhile, can spend nearly $1T in "stimulus" all in the name of putting people back to work, and have it result in continued record foreclosures, meager economic growth, and 5+ applicants for every job opening. You just can't hitch your wagon with either political party at this point. But democrat, republican, space alien...whatever...they NEED to work together to figure out what it's going to take to give these private sector companies all the reasons in the world to expand their operations and start hiring again.

In the meantime...keep applying and applying and applying, but put together a plan of what the heck you're going to do IF you can't find employment by the time your 99 weeks is up. I can't stress that enough. "Living in the now" is not a good practice for any unemployed person.

OK, Tillis said that the "veto proof" bill will be on the Gov's desk on Saturday. She's already found a $5 word to call it.

What kind of realistic scenarios and timelines are we looking at before the ESC gets the green light?

Looks Like 10,000 Jobs at 25,000 per year, so at 50,000 a year it would be 5000 people. With that said, the 250 million dollars they are cutting will be made up in the taxes u and I pay spending the EB money in North Carolina. Do not let Bev fool us: "GAME OVER"
