Default A good place to live between the Charlotte and Greensboro Metro Areas

In our opinions, and by reviews and statistics that may be wrong on this website. And basically in General. I want to stay away from G-Boro and Charlotte too much traffic problems and crime.

Hmmmmmmmm!? You think Yanceyville is "the stupidest town on Earth" yet you seek a "Yanceyville" between Charlotte and Greensboro.

I have lived in both Greensboro (college) and I currently live in Charlotte. I would suggest China Grove or Landis. Honestly, you will find crime/drugs and traffic anywhere you go on the I-85 corridor. Good luck!.

Well, Yanceyville is where I live at now(I hate my life) until it's time for college. If you ever been there you'll understand it's about 40 miles Northeast of G-Boro. Thanks, I was thinking about Salisbury at first, but the crime rate is like crazy. Murders is not a problem, it's thefts.

I used to date a girl in Danville. My friend dated her friend in Reidsville. Being that you are just starting college, it is safe to say you are not old enough to hit the clubs and bars in Danville and Greensboro (which may or may not explain why you don't like your current loction). It certainly makes a difference when you can get out, dance, get drunk, then go back to Yanceyville.

At any rate, most people your age would actually prefer being in Charlotte or Greensboro rather than somewhere in between. I fear you will "hate your life" in between G-boro and Charlotte just as much as you "hate it" now. Let's forget about crime stats for a minute. Just out of curiosity, how much time have you spent in a town larger than Yanceyville? You seem to be affraid of any town that has more than 30,000 people in it.

If it is a "true" small town setting that you seek, I would highly suggest you look somewhere other than the I-85 corridor between Charlotte and the Triad. Seriously!

I TRY TO GET AWAY AS MUCH AS I CAN!!!!!
I'm more of a fan of medium-sized cities where traffic isn't too bad, not much crime, and one where transportation(Trains and Trucks) is very important. I hope to get in the field later in life.
I'm thinking between Salisbury and Lexington the most though.

Yanceyville - NO WAL-MART, NO MALL, No K-MART,
4 fast-food chains, Mickey D's, Hardee's, Bojangles' and Subway.
Downtown is not worth a hoot, too many bums running around the streets.
VERY POOR, no industry, no car dealerships, no railroads,
About 85 % is rural, hardly any broadband internet access
Schools are BAD, Espicially the high school. Way too many rules and restrictions for such a small town. It's pretty much prison.

Salisbury. Smallish town, but bigger than Lexington and has a revitalized downtown. Lots of history in Salisbury. Has Catawba College and the arts are well supported there for the size of town.

No town is perfect; all will have crime and some traffic.

Btw, I live in Greensboro and make it a point to get out every once in a while because of the traffic, congestion, etc. I actually like to visit Yanceyville and other small towns and villages for the change in tempo and scenery. I Love that grand old courthouse in Yanceyville; it was built right before the Civil War. What a beautiful building There is some interesting history in your county and town. You will learn to appreciate it later in life
