Hello, new guy here and boy am I confused, can someone enlighten me before I do something illegal?
My brother has a pistol that he bought with a permit and he has CCW permit, do I need to get a permit to buy the pistol from him? I was always told I didn't need a permit but a bill of sale/transfer of ownership was all we need....help please....

In the state of North Carolina, you do need to get a pistol purchase permit and give it to your brother to buy the pistol from him.

In NC, any person to person transfer of a handgun regardless of relation to each other requires a valid permit to be obtained by the seller and retained by the seller.
BY THE WAY, I am looking for handguns to purchase for my collection. I have valid NC permits and all laws will be followed if you are interested in selling any handguns (or shotguns or hunting rifles either).
Thanks,
Mike

Why in the world would you want to sell a gun "legally"? Besides all the red tape and taxes, you are giving the commie Obama government all the information they need to come to your house, break down your door, abuse your wife and children, and steal your possessions. Go to a gun show, talk privately with one of the vendors, and arrange to meet him in the parking lot later, then exchange gun for hard cold cash. No taxes, no questions, America is better off, and the Obama Nation remains a little safer.

If someone inherited a handgun when their parents passed away

You don't need a permit to sell if you're not a dealer...you need a permit to BUY or you need a CCW permit to buy. I have a CCW permit. I can buy all I want from any dealer or individual LEGALLY.
