Smile We love it!

From reading posts tonight, it sounds like there are many unhapy North Carolinians out there. I gotta say, we are new here- been here since Feb. but we LOVE it. The weather is fantastic. Not too hot- not too cold- not too humid- and no where close to too windy. By and large we have found the people here to be welcoming and friendly. We have enjoyed the ocean and the mountains and some nice stops in between.

Is it perfect? No- but I haven't found anyplace that is. But if you are looking for a nice place to raise a family, enjoy the outdoors, and visit with your neighbors over some sweet tea- I think this is the place!

Wow, mindy, it sounds wonderful. I hope we are as happy as you are after we make the move. Those are exactly the things we are looking for, we're excited. Not too hot and humid? In July?

Some days are more humid than others but it's certainly not as bad as people can make it out to be. It isn't like Florida and it isn't like Oklahoma so we are really pleased with the weather here!

In my 12 years in NC I found the Coastal Plane to have the most severe heat and humidity. I don't think it is the fact that it doesn't get humid other places - like most of the Midwest and Mid Atlantic (We're swimming in humidity in NYC this week) but the duration of the Humid season. Can wear you down by September, when it is cooling off in many places.
However, I will grant you that it ain't anything like the stuff you get in Florida. Gag puke.
