My parents just bought a house in Goldsboro, I would like to live no more than 30 minutes away. I have three children my 10 year old son has special needs. I need to find a nice area near Goldsboro with a great school system and jobs available for my husband he is a chef and landscaper. What are the chances of him starting his own landscaping company in the area? I would like to rent a house at first in case we do not like the area or school system. My son receives great benefits in Massachusetts and I take his education very seriously. Unfortunately we can not afford this state any longer anyone have any suggestions? Thank you.

Donna8-

I don't think you're going to find what you're looking for within 30 minutes of Goldsboro.

Here are two suggestions within about an hour of Goldsboro. I would go to Garner, an easy hour's drive on Highway 70 from Goldsboro. You would then be in Wake County (home of Raleigh, the state capital) for a better school system and access to better jobs. A second choice would be Greenville, a little over an hour away. I can't really speak to the job market or the school system there, but it is home to East Carolina University, so my guess is that they may have resources for your son which other communities may not.

Let me know if I can be of assistance to you.
