I just watched an NECN video on Boston.com-

Forbes magazine has just announced that Essex county in MA is now the most overpriced county in the country- beating San Francisco

This is where we moved from

It's hard to believe it's only the North Shore. I'd include the entire greater boston area

You can actually get a 3 bed room, 2 bath, 2000 sqft in Essex county for as cheap as $375K to $450K. Times have definitely changed since last year!

I still think CA is much more expensive than anywhere in the Boston and surrounding areas though.

Expensive and overpriced also is in the eye of the beholder and what they are accustomed to...also your perception of what you are getting for your money

I was thinking about this further and will relay with the tax issues, here on LI our school taxes are crazy, I guess if my kids had newer schools and better programs it would be worth it more, in NC as taxes go up, they are building schools and trying to make it better so I can see where the $$ is going..

Here our taxes go up and while the school will try and make you believe it goes to our children, it does not - it goes to pay for the teachers increases in pay per the union, their pension, their benefits...etc, NOT OUR KIDS. We do not even have a foreign lang in the schools until 7th grade in my district, there are no computers in all the classes, the kids get (if they are lucky) 1 x week in the library - many will say we have the best schools and you get what you pay for, but we pay a lot and get nothing. (IMO)
