There's nothing small about Cary.

Also, the locals jokingly refer to it as the 'Containment Area For Relocated Yankees', so if you don't like New Yorkers, don't move to Cary.

Thumbs up Looking for small town in NC

Hello Newlywed(s)! You may want to consider the small living areas in Sampson County, some of which are not towns but simply "sections". Try looking into Mingo, Spivey's Corner, Godwin and Clement...all of which are about 20 minutes or less to the City of Dunn which is in Harnett County. Dunn is located off I-95 at exit 72-73 and the areas I mentioned are off to the east and southeast. In our midst are several dollar stores, convenience stores, restaurants and gas stations. We go to Dunn to do most of our shopping. We are close to Midway High School which takes pride in their Friday night sports. We are about an hour from Wilmington on the coast and about 30 minutes from Clinton, the Sampson County Seat. Spivey's Corner is the home of The International Hollerin Contest and we enjoy a number of warm weather events such as fairs, festivals and parades. We relocated down from Raleigh and before that from New England and this is like Paradise if you want quiet living with good, honest neighbors and want to live in farm country. Do a Google search on Dunn, NC and start there. Hope this added to the information you already had given to you.

We also don't want to live in a dump. We are 27 and 28 years old and are about to start a family also. Any suggestions?
