Red face Moving to Butner...rentals???

My family is currently in CA, and we'd like to move to Butner. We're basically starting over by moving across the country. My husband will be working at the prison. We will be moving with a toddler and a newborn, so we're looking for an area that's kid friendly. We're planning to rent until we can find our first home. We would like at least 2 bedrooms, a safe place for the kids to play, and if possible, washer and dryer hook-ups. Anything within 30 minutes of the prison would be great. The closer the better. We'd also like a little info on the area. Entertainment? Childcare? Crime? Shopping? Any info provided will help us in taking this step in our lives. Thanks in advance.

This may be an obvious suggestion, but would someone in the prison's human resources office be able to help with rental recommendations? Worst case, maybe someone could post a notice for you on employee bulletin boards, etc.

How much can you spend? Also, post this in the Raleigh/Durham board for more responses.
