I just moved here. I sent out my resume with a NC address and received calls immediately. I have already interviewed. I do believe you will get responses when you have a NC address. I did not receive any calls when I used my Fl address.

salary . com has a free report section that will tell you average salaries for most jobs. You can compare areas also.

State government has dozens of job openings posted every month....mostly in or near Raleigh (the capital) but a surprisingly good number throughout the state. check out www.osp.state.nc.us/jobs

Do the state jobs in NC require a test? Here in NY if you want to work for the local government, you have to take a civil service test and then usually it takes a yr or more to be called for the job
