we are thinking about moving to Lenoir area or Hudson from FL.My husband in 2005 had lung cancer and goes for check ups every three months. Is there any good cancer centers in that area? Our only other option which we could do would make the 12 hr trip to our doctors in Fl every three months.

I'm sorry to hear about your husband.

You could possible look into Duke, UNC Chapel Hill, and Wake Forest. A coworkers spouse had cancer and went to Duke for Care. They also received care at Northeast Medical Center in Concord. I'm not sure what services are offered through Carolina's Medical Center and Presbyterian.

Good Luck.

Thank you for the info. Is Chapel Hill, and Wake Forest close to the lenoir area? If we decide not to do the 12 hr drive all we need is a good ONC and a hospital to do the scans. He would have to go down to FL anyway for his job every few weeks but I would like to have another option close by. We just want to move out of FL so bad. We have only lived there since Aug 2004 but even cming from CA the only thing cheaper is the homes. INS is sky high for our home and even our car ins is higher. NC we fell in love with when we went to Boone a few weeks ago half business and half to look around. We had been told by some friends that was the place to look.
