No, "we Yankees" are not that bad. Infact, "we Yankees" are the best in the world. After all, "we Yankees" won the world series.
I could not resist.

Hmmmm....your wife was so dumb but....YOU MARRIED HER!!
Like Raivere pointed out, there are dumb people everywhere. I'm not sure which is worse...a dumb person or someone who doesn't notice they are marrying a dumb person.

I was thinking with the wrong head a the age of 26, see I was being "Voluntarily Stupid" at that time. I just get to laugh at the other two schlups that married her after I did.

So I get to choose (door No. 2). Hey! Atleast I admit to when I'm being stupid. And she's still as dumb as a bag of hammers.

I also could not resist. You pull for the Yankees but your name has Charlotte on the end. Rhetorical question: Are you NY'ers some sort of race? Is that how you veiw yourselves?

Silly.I moved to Charlotte but originally from New Jersey and I am a Yankees fan. I personally view myself as a human being. Not part of the "NY'er race" whatever that means?
My two cents in this thread involving the "Yankees" was meant to be a lighthearted joke to break up some over the top posts I had read on both sides of the scale.

Lol guess I am silly Sorry I offended you.
It just seems that NYers never give up there state. It's like they become the state themselves as if they would rather die than give up their pride. They say "I'm a New Yorker living in NC." If they live in NC why do they say they are a New Yorker? It is like they are there own race. Sorry if that doesn't make since.

In a word, yes. In general, northerners are brash, insensitive to our slower pace of life, loud and rude. We locals hear all the time that you leave up north because you don't like how it is anymore, then you come down here to our way of life(especially in small towns) then start getting involved with the local politics so you can start changing things back exactly the way they were where you left. We are not opposed to new folks moving in actually we are usually dependent on that economically but don't come down here and expect to change us to what you just left. Learn some manners (especially road manners) learn to listen and not be so brash verbally and slow down and enjoy our slower pace and you will be accepted.

"you will be accepted" ...uh - who cares if you accept 'us'?

Don't recall strolling down here looking for acceptance. Just looking for a cheaper place to live.

I believe you have just proven his point, to a T.

There is this thing called "When in Rome, do as the Romans"; that's the general philosophy he was referring to, and it's true no matter where one comes from/goes to. It would be equally as wrong and annoying for a Southerner to move up to NJ and be griping about things there.

Because I don't come down here looking for acceptance from you? I wouldn't go to NY looking for acceptance from anyone either. I don't base my comfort level where I live on whether you like me. Call me a non-conformist.

Would you give a flying fig newton if I didn't like you? I'm doubting it.
