I recently was offered a civillian job at Ft. Bragg and I cant seem to find any public transportation (train or buses) that would take someone from Raleight to Ft. Bragg/Fayetteville. I found this quite suprising as I live in Bridgeport, CT (which is roughly the same size as Fayetteville and the same distance to NYC as Fayetteville is to Raleigh) and there are 2 trains and buses every hour to Manhattan. Any advice would be appreciated!

Looks like Amtrak runs Raleigh to Wilson and then Wilson to Fayetville on a regular basis.

I don't know if there is any formal transportation options. Many people probably car pool. Check this link out to see if there is anything in for you: Share the Ride NC

Other than Amtrack, there isn't any public transport that distance that I'm aware of. NC, outside the major cities, is largely rural, so much of those types of services do not exist as of yet. NC residents are also very car-centric, so there hasn't been much support for such a thing as of yet.

What about Greyhound? There's a terminal in downtown, then it would be city buses or cab.

You'd be better off moving closer to the base.

You say Fayetteville is the size of Bridgeport...Bridgeport area is actually more populated and dense than Fayetteville...and..... you really trying to compare Raleigh to NYC??
