Hard to say. Just depends on what you're looking for. The Mountain Region of NC is pretty big. You can have a city of 70,000 all the way down to basically wilderness.

Hi there! I am from Fl and I own a home in Avery County. The mountains are beautiful. Bluegreen Corp out of Boca is planning a timeshare resort nearby...you may want to give them a call! Good luck! ENJOY!

Default Fla transplant myself

I moved from Fla 12 yrs ago to the beautiful mountains of North Carolina. I also live in a very small town here. It all depends on exactly what you are looking for in a town. This is the "Bible belt" here, a church everywhere you turn, but again, if that's for you, then come on up. I would consider the workforce, how far is your husband willing to drive for work? Closest place to here is Chattanooga,TN, Atlanta or Asheville.
Good luck on your decision
