We closed on our home with Saussy Burbank in Monteith Park in December of last year. Everything went great. The closing was within a week or so of our projected date. Service department is also wonderful. The few things we found after our closing were completed within a week of our service request. Our only problem was with the sales staff. They are the worst we have ever encountered and we have purchased many new homes over the years. I already have a prior post on my sales experience so I won't go into that nightmare!!

Default I Voted For Drees

Having worked as a sales associate for a number of builders, including Drees Homes, I can honestly vouch for the quality of a Drees home as well as the overall integrity of the company.

I worked for a local builder bought by the Drees company. Not only do they offer an impressive product, Drees is also a wonderful company to work for. I was on the verge of leaving prior to the buy-out, however, I was so impressed by Drees I stayed for additional year before leaving. The benefits, the co-workers, and the pride of working for this company has been one of the best experiences of my life. A company's level of integrity can be measured by the way they treat their employees.

It's worth noting that many of their employees were customers first. I bought one of their homes after I began working for them and I love my house! That should say it all!

Tucker 1 - my dad is a local builder in the Lake Norman area and lives in Denver - let me know if you want his info. I think he has a website.
I'm in Wisconsin but my DH and I are thinking of relocating to NC in the next year.

I've purchased a home from Brookwood, the house, overall is good. I did have a few issues-plumbing leaks, code violation on steps, mold, rack in closet fell down. They have been prompt in fixing those items....I still haven't had the major punchout...we were told, only to call them once for cosmetic items because they won't fix those but once.

The building process was horrible. A total lack of communication on their part, a sales agent who quit a month after we signed the contract was our only contact with the builder. They made a major fubar when they sold us a house that couldn't be built on the original lot and then charged us $10,000 to move it to another lot.

I've been told, they're okay to deal with on a spec home, but don't buy a home and have them build to your specs....very unprofessional in handlingtheir customers.

I would say that I have been most impressed with Lennar homes overall-and we have looked at alot!! We've have been looking in the Raleigh area and like what we have seen from them. Their overall way of doing things seems to make sense-include everything, and you make it a home once you move in. I can paint, make small changes and add curtains to make it ours. Quality looks very good, too. My husband is an engineer and he was impressed. A sales agent in one of their neighborhoods told me that they were rated very high in JD power for quality-and I don't doubt it. We're looking to relocate in the late Fall or early next year-and will most likely pick Lennar.

I agree that Dree is a very good builder. Their houses feel solid. MI Homes is also good in my opinion.
