So I recently blew out a tired and destroyed a rim on a deep pothole. I called the DOT and they sent me a form to fill out to seek compensation. Since then the pothole has been repaired, so evidently they felt it was in fact dangerous. My question is, do I have any chance of actually seeing any money from this? The lady on the phone had no idea, but the form acts like I got into a traffic accident with a state employee or was injured by construction debris. Just curious of anyone's thoughts.

Interesting. I wasn't aware you could seek damages from DOT for potholes. Please let us know how it turns out for you!

My husband ran into a pothole, sustained 300.00 worth of damage. He filled out a claim report, sent it to the Department and just got back the answer. They are not responsible to pay it.
