Default opportunity knocking

My family and I recently moved up to NC from South FL. We currently live in Lake Norman area and love it here! we have lived here 5 months in a new home. Our situation is that we have a family member that is an investor and wants to purchase a motel or small resort in NC. Living here only a few months we do not know where everyone goes on vacation in state. Yes, we know their are mountains and beaches and have not discovered them yet.
We also have the opportunity to run the operation of the motel or small resort. Any suggestions for places would be great and would you jump at the opportunity to operate it? We have a 6 yr old and have to take him in consideration. This was a dream or goal later in life (when he goes to college) but the opportunity is right in front of us now. Thanks

The coast or the mountains would be your best bet. unless you were to open up something like a bed and breakfast.

Hendersonville, Flat Rock or Saluda would be good for a mountain motel.

I know of a castle for sale in Tuckesegee. I'm not kidding. http://www.findthedivine.com/propert...stleridge.html

I'd buy it if I didn't love Boones Mill, Virginia and Roanoke so much. Tuckesegee I understand is an hour from Asheville. Back in 2004 we were looking to relocate from Vermont and stumbled over the property while it was being developed as an equestrian community. Looks like that plan fizzled but the castle proper was finished!
