Boy, NC just gets screwed right and left with them! I just got my AUTO insurance renewal that went up 5.4% - I had no accidents or other claims to my policy, and have been with the company 3 years. Called my insurance company (one of the national companies) to see why. Guess what? They had to raise premiums for all NC policies due to the increased cost of HEALTH INSURANCE in this state! Plus, the state of NC doesn't allow auto insurance discounts for AAA memberships or higher degree educations as most of the other states do (I only asked about those two discounts. I wonder how many others we DON'T get).

Just gotta love it!

You need to call back and talk to someone competent.

Unless you have your auto insurance with Blue Cross-Blue Shield, then you have bigger issues than I can address.

Good Luck.

What on Earth are you talking about? Auto insurance rates increase because of the medical coverages attached to them.

Well, I get a discount b/c of my clean driving record. So you can get a discount on your auto insurance here. Also, if your home and auto insurance are from one company, you can usually get a discount for that.

Check around and see if you can get cheaper rates from a different auto insurance company.
