When you go there, you search by maps function, and when you get to north carolina it splits it into 3 main regions, west, coastal and in the middle is piedmont where the 2 major urban areas are. Then you can narrow it down further and thats how I got my "splits" of the areas and cities.
That map isn't too bad as far as the black text of naming cities and counties. But the separation of the "pieces" of the cities in the various color blocks seem kinda random to me. No clue what they picked for that!

cathyd is on a distinguished road
I have a comment to make re housing. It is always attractive to find cheaper housing but remember when you get ready to sell that house you would like to see some good appreciation and you won't see too much of that in Greensboro. It might cost a little more (or you might think of it as getting less house for your money) to live in The Triangle or Charlotte but when you get ready to sell, you will be happy to see good appreciation in either Raleigh or Charlotte. I have lived in both Raleigh and Greensboro and Greensboro is by far the worst investment in real estate. It also takes longer to sell in Greensboro. Too much supply and not enough demand.
