Default Dumb question - why so many posts in NC

I just looked at the main page for forums where all the states are listed and NC has 12K posts, next closest is Florida with 4K, than it drops and most states have 500 to 1500.

If this just a long standing pattern that NC has had a lot of posters? Or does it have to do with the Money magazine article or is there some reason? Totally new to the site so when I saw that I was sort of shocked

NC is just the latest version of Nirvana. If this post even existed a few years ago, Florida would probably be top of the list.
Or maybe Tar Heels are just bored

Yeah, NC is pretty much the fad "it" place to relocate to, much like Florida was a few years ago.

Where in GA? No jobs in ID I don't think. AZ and NV are over grown. TX has to high of foreclosures (don't start). As for UT I am not Morman.

I would think the Atlanta area.

I think NV still has a lot of area for people to grow into.

Oddly, I know of several families whom have recently relocated to UT ... they aren't Mormon either, or White for that matter.

NV 3.5% Growth Rate
AZ 3.5%
ID 2.4%
FL 2.3%
UT 2.0%
TX 1.7%
GA 1.7%
NC 1.7%

Atlanta Metro Area is the place for Georgia.

I imagine a significant part of the growth is being fueled by the baby-boomers. The first members began retiring in 2001. Estimated number of baby boomers, as of July 1, 2005 - 78.2 million. Jobs not real important as long as the pension checks keep coming each month.

I have no idea that would explain the NC Forum activity as opposed to the other states on the above list.

Oh Tornado....don't forget about the foreclosures looming in California!! (hee hee...sorry couldn't resist!) I know what you mean about Utah...I spent some time there....the first question you are asked is "Are you LDS?" When you have the audacity to say "NO".....you get the "look" and a long .."Ooooh"
A girlfriend of mine lives there now and she say it even happens in business out there.
