I am looking all over the country to see which place would be my family's best fit. It may be a dream, but I am looking for the following:
single family home
$125K or less
NO HOA/deed restrictions
good schools
3+bd 2ba 1600+ sq ft
close to a bass fishing lake
foodservice jobs (in colleges, nursing homes or corporate buildings)

Is this possible to find anywhere in NC? If so where? Thanks!

You can find that in the Fayetteville area. I just checked the nc job bank they list several food service jobs at $7.25 an hour and a few cook jobs at $8.00 an hour.

I don't know. Is your husband working? I dont think you can swing 125K home with $8/hour job. Maybe renting. Also I don't understand why people seriously so emphasis on good school. If you kid willing to learn, an average school will just do fine.

Just trying to get a little info....
My husband is working, and a $7.25-$8.00/hr job is not what he would be looking for when we do move. He has a culinary degree, so I'm hoping he would be able to make more than that...if not, it's definitely not the place for us. And as far as the schools, everyone just tries to have the best they can for their children. It's very important to most of us who have kids.

Who does a better job of educating your children?

You?

OR

Strangers?

hmmmmmmmmmm.....let me think...

As for the other criteria---

Almost anywhere in NC would be a match.

I would think a place within 30-45 minutes of I-95 would provide:

the possibility of employment ( Around Raleigh might be an idea with colleges like Johnston Community, Wake TECH, NCSU, SHAW, Peace, and businesses in Raleigh as well.)

125K housing (ours is similiar and was below $100K)

Fishing in area

What about a place with no HOA/deed restrictions? Would that be relatively easy to find, or would I have a hard time? That is a HUGE part of our criteria b/c I do daycare out of my home, and I know HOAs don't like in home businesses.

Avoiding HOAs shouldn't be too hard. We looked at 3-4 areas and not one had an HOA. Some will have covenants restricting traffic in and out in regards to a home business. Our neighborhood has something like this but it states that there are certain hours and a certain number of cars that come in and out of a property and no posting of signs ect...

Our neighbor has a yard sign advertising Avon and another is advertising handy work around the house and no one seems to be complaining.

Look around and I think it will be easier to find what you want than you may think.
