950 people unemployed is a vast amount to find alternative employment. More likely Raeford will loose residents who have contributed to the city and state as they will not be able to survive on McCrory $350 unemployment.

If the Fed is subsidizing ethanol corn crops cutting the funds would be a good starting point.

Yes and those on unemployment do seek work to but they need affordable unemployment to meet their bills while doing so.
When the largest employer lays off 950 employees they are not going to be able to meet their bills on just $350 and stay in the area or contribute to the growth of the town.
Unemployment in no way is meant to increase the growth of a town. That's silliness.

Assuming they get $350, that is the max benefit and is based on a percentage of their former wages.
House of Raeford employed 1 out of 20 in the town. It was the 2 turkey processing plant in North Carolina.
All the business in area will suffer, I feel sad for the town.
