Thumbs up Rain in Sampson County

Well, we sure are getting our share of rain...yippee! The previous rain event (last week) brought us over 2 inches and this current one has already dropped an inch...with more coming. Maybe we will overcome this drought after all without serious water rationing.

In my particular area I have not heard of a single well going dry and some are over 30 years old! Maybe it has to do with the great underground streams we have here in farm country.

How about hearing from other folks in Sampson and other Eastern NC counties???...My take is that all counties encompassing the entire area east of I-95, from VA to SC, would be considered "eastern", but there may be a few counties in the grey area that consider themselves eastern as well.

All are welcome to share their information on the drought and its impact on you.

Does anyone have any information on Williamston/Martin County. There is a job opportunity there that I am thinking about applying for. I will actually be in NC this weekend and have now decided that I will make a side trip on my way home to visit the area. Any information would be helpful, I am a single female with a dog, no kids. I would like to know about rentals, shopping, restaurants and things to do. Thanks

I am sorry to say that I know very little about Williamston in Martin County, but I did find a link for you to look over. Looks like a nice small town!. Hope you get this before you get down here so you will have at least some information.

You are welcome...no bother at all!

Let me be among the very first to welcome you to North Carolina even before you move here. For every negative you may hear about this great State there are 100 positives to dilute them..

Thanks Mikey_NC but I am a former NC resident trying to move back. I left NC to move back to MD but miss NC too much to stay here in MD even though it is closer to my family in DE. I am looking forward to moving back to NC but still working on where and when I will move.
