Hi.. Iím a 24 year old female graduating with my Masters in Social Work. I currently live in NY, but Iím looking to move to North Carolina with a few friends. We are not really looking for a big city, but an area that has shops, restaurants, bars and entertainment close by. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on areaís to look.. Thanks!

I'd recommend the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill area. It's going the be the most dynamic and interesting for some young professional women. Downtown Raleigh has some nightlife. I never go there for that, so I don't know how good it is. The area near the Southpoint Mall in Durham is nice, but would feel somewhat surburban to you. IMHO, anything outside of downtown Raleigh feels suburban, so maybe that's where you should focus your effort.

Will you have jobs lined up before you come down here? That will be very important.

The best place is wherever you can find a job, considering NC's unemployment rate right now (which is still rising). Surely someone in your profession above all others knows the ramifications of being unemployed and wouldn't want to put herself in that positoin.
