If you are moving into NC and need to retake the written test for your drivers license, read over this site and it will help out. I know this was already posted but I read it over 2x before I took my test and 98% of the questions were listed on this site. Just wanted to help out all other new relocators.

Good luck!

Wow-I need to check out that site! Have been here 11 months and still haven't taken that test yet! Switched everything else over though-guess I needed to know for sure whether I'd be staying or not.

How about teens? I was on the NC DMV website and couldn't get a straight answer. A MA teen with a learner's permit can go for his/her license after 6 months. You can't get the permit until you are 16. So the driving age is 16.5 here. What if the kid has his permit and is eligible to take his test in September but we move before then?

A little off topic here, but I'm the lowest point(best) driver in Massachusetts. Will I be the lowest point driver in North Carolina? Or will I have to prove myself on NC Roads?

NC has a graduated license system Teens can get a permit at age 15, a provisional license at 16. In both cases they can drive 5am - 9pm. Permit drivers must be with a someone that has held a license for at least five years. A full license can be obtained at 16.5
